About This Tour

If you have three days in Labuan Bajo, this is the best version of Komodo you can buy. The Phinisi we sail is a modern build launched in 2022 — traditional Indonesian wooden hull, air-conditioned cabins, a sundeck big enough to actually lie down on, and a crew that includes a cruise director, a guide, and a photographer who'll send you edited photos after the trip.

This is the open trip — meaning you share the boat with other travellers, so per-person prices are dramatically lower than chartering the whole vessel. The cabin you pick is the price you pay (see the table on the right). Max 21 guests across 9 cabins.

Asik Travel is your point of contact from booking to back-in-town. Our partner shipyard, Elbark Cruises, has been running modern Phinisis since 2022 — we handle the schedule, KNP fee paperwork, dietary requirements, airport transfers — all of it. You show up at 8:30 AM Day 1, we do everything else.

Important if you're booking solo: each cabin is designed for two people. If you want to keep a cabin private, you pay for both beds (cabin price × 2). If you're happy to share with another solo traveller of the same gender, ask us — we run a share-cabin waitlist for solo guests, no supplement.

Highlights

Sunrise from Padar Island summit (worth the 4 AM alarm)
Three full days inside Komodo National Park
All meals + free-flow coffee, tea, water, snacks included
9 cabins to pick from — pay per cabin tier, not a flat rate
Snorkel gear, paddleboard, and canoe on board
Cruise director, English-speaking guide, AND onboard photographer
Wi-Fi on board (intermittent — it's the middle of the sea)
Take-home reusable tumbler so you stop drinking from plastic

Tour Itinerary

  1. 1

    Day 108:30 – late evening

Boarding, Manta Point, Padar at sunset, bats at Kalong

    1. 08:30

      Hotel / airport pickup

Meet your transfer in central Labuan Bajo. Short drive to the harbour, board the Phinisi, drop bags in your cabin, welcome briefing on the sundeck.

    2. 10:00

      Sail to Sebayur / Siaba

First snorkel stop — gentle reef, easy entry, warm-up before the bigger sites.

    3. 12:30

      Lunch on board

while we cruise to Taka Makasar.

    4. 13:30

      Taka Makasar sandbar

The tiny crescent island in the middle of the Flores Sea. Swim, sunbathe, drone shots.

    5. 15:00

      Manta Point

Drift snorkel where oceanic manta rays cruise the cleaning station. Same site as the day trip, but you'll have more time and fewer boats.

    6. 16:30

      Padar Island

Second-best version of Padar: at golden hour, with a fraction of the crowd that swarms the sunrise hike. The 3-bay viewpoint at sunset is unforgettable.

    7. 18:30

      Kalong Island (flying-fox sunset)

Anchor near Kalong. As the sun sets, thousands of giant fruit bats leave the mangroves and fly across the sky toward Flores. One of the strangest, most beautiful natural spectacles in Indonesia.

    8. 19:30

      Dinner on board

, then movies / karaoke on the sundeck. Sleep in your cabin under the stars.

  2. 2

    Day 204:30 – late evening

Padar sunrise, Pink Beach, dragons, Pengah, Kalong return

    1. 04:30

      Wake call

It's worth it. Quick coffee, transfer to Padar.

    2. 05:00 – 07:30

      Padar Island sunrise hike

Up the famous viewpoint as the sun comes over the bays. THE photo. Bring a head torch, water, and your camera.

    3. 08:00

      Breakfast on board

as we sail to Pink Beach.

    4. 09:30

      Pink Beach

Swim, snorkel directly off the beach over thriving reef. The colour is real — crushed red coral mixed with white sand.

    5. 11:00

      Komodo Island & dragons

Land at Loh Liang ranger station. A park ranger walks you through dragon territory. Real dragons, real jungle, no zoo.

    6. 13:00

      Lunch on board

as we cruise to Pengah Island.

    7. 14:00

      Pengah Island snorkel

Less-visited reef, often the trip's best snorkel for coral health. Watch for reef sharks and schooling fish.

    8. 16:00

      Free time

on board — paddleboard, canoe, swim off the boat, or just nap.

    9. 18:00

      Sunset cruise back toward Kalong

      , dinner on board.

  3. 3

    Day 306:30 – 12:00

Kelor hike, Manjarite snorkel, return to Labuan Bajo

    1. 06:30

      Breakfast on board

      .

    2. 07:30

      Kelor Island

Short, sharp hike up a small island for one last panorama back over the islands you've spent two days in. Total cliché, totally worth it.

    3. 09:00

      Manjarite snorkel

Final snorkel — calm, shallow, colourful, the kind of water-as-a-mirror that makes you wish you'd booked a longer trip.

    4. 10:30

      Cruise back to Labuan Bajo

, packing time, breakfast on the sundeck.

    5. 11:00 – 12:00

      Arrive Labuan Bajo harbour

Disembark, transfer to your hotel or airport. Most guests catch an afternoon flight; we plan around your schedule.
